Millet Bank is a women-led initiative reviving India's 7,000-year-old millet legacy, building food security and livelihoods through sustainable products, bold identity design, and the preservation of ancestral grain cultures.
Millet Bank stems from a rich legacy of over 7,000 years of millet farming. Founded by the children of dryland farmers, it emerges as a mission-driven initiative to revive India's millet food cultures and nutritional diversity. With deep ties to rural ecology and agro-cultural heritage, the initiative is led predominantly by women, supporting women farmers and micro-entrepreneurs in promoting sustainable livelihoods and food sovereignty. The brand's logotype draws its form from the traditional grain banks, the storage chests villages once used to hold grains. This symbol conveys food security, crop diversity, dietary richness, and a sustainable food future.
