Goa Jazz Academy's new identity captures the spirit of music, community, and mentorship with a dynamic visual system inspired by jazz's balance of structure and improvisation.
Over the past five years, Goa Jazz Academy (GJA) has cultivated a vibrant community of musicians, students, and music lovers in Goa. Through weekend jam sessions and regular student showcases, GJA has become a dynamic hub for contemporary music education and expression. In alignment with this growth, we partnered with founders Karan Khosla and Divya Gupta to develop a refreshed brand identity rooted in GJA's core values: Music, Community, and Mentorship.. At the heart of this updated identity is a bold, flexible wordmark that reflects the interplay between structure and improvisation intrinsic to jazz. The logo comprises four possible orientations of the letters GJA, introducing a playful dynamism that mirrors the genre's creative spontaneity. The visual language combines graphic shapes with confident typography, creating a vibrant and recognizable aesthetic. A refined color palette adds energy and helps the brand stand out across formats—from the revamped website to event materials and beyond. As part of the rebranding, Switch produced three short videos, each offering a unique take on the GJA signature tune. The motion design added an expressive layer to the identity, reinforcing GJA's spirited and inclusive character. The new identity system does more than refresh the brand—it amplifies GJA's ethos. Through its visual presence, GJA communicates a commitment to creative exploration, supportive learning, and a community where music breeds connection and confidence.
