We had the opportunity to collaborate with Dhun, a sustainable and regenerative development located on the outskirts of Jaipur. Envisioned as a neighbourhood that integrates work, learning, and recreation, Dhun represents a forward-looking model for how people and places can coexist in balance. The development is conceived from the inside out, beginning with the preservation of local ecology, followed by the needs of the community, the individual, and finally the efficiency and sustainability of its systems.

Our engagement at Dhun encompassed a wide range of placemaking and communication interventions designed to bring its vision to life. This included the design of signage systems as well as narrative-driven communication programs tailored for diverse audiences. A key focus was the creation of an embedded signage system for the central haveli—a multi-functional space that serves as a lab, co-working area, and guest residence. The signage was designed to harmonize with the architectural character of the haveli, creating a seamless and intuitive wayfinding experience for visitors.

Another significant aspect of our work involved translating Dhun's extensive research and expert studies into accessible and engaging narratives. For example, the site's biodiversity report was reimagined as a publication titled The First Residents of Dhun, celebrating the flora and fauna that define its natural ecosystem. Similarly, the heritage report was transformed into a map that highlighted important heritage structures in and around the site.

Through these interventions, Dhun's layered vision was distilled into tangible experiences that allow stakeholders to better understand and connect with its ecological and cultural context. The outcome is a communication system that not only informs but also inspires participation in Dhun's regenerative journey.
